Die Galerie Azimut bleibt sich ihrem Konzept treu und präsentiert in der aktuellen Ausstellung Künstler, die mit ihren Werken ganz persönliche Einblicke gewähren.


So erzählen die Werke des irakischen Künstlers Falah Alrasam seine durchlebte Fluchtgeschichte. Als Angehöriger des verfolgten Volkes der Jesiden musste er 2021 seine Heimat verlassen und lebt seitdem in Deutschland .


Silvia Noblecilla lebt seit 2001 in Berlin. Ihr abstrakter und impressionistischer Kunststil ist als Echo ihrer peruanischen Heimat sichtbar. Mit ihrer Arbeit fördert sie Projekte zur Unterstützung von Straßenkindern.


Rudi Dieringer lebt in seiner Wahlheimat München. Seine brillanten Portraits strahlen durch die Kraft und Intensität ihrer Augen und spiegeln mehr als nur den Zeitgeist wider.

Ich & Wir

Die menschliche Erfahrung ist ein komplexes Zusammenspiel zwischen „Ich & Wir“.

In dieser Ausstellung untersuchen wir die komplizierten Verbindungen und

Abhängigkeiten zwischen diesen beiden grundlegenden Aspekten unserer Existenz.

Das Selbst (Ich) mit seinem einzigartigen Bewusstsein und seiner individuellen Perspektive ist eine Quelle der Kreativität und Autonomie, aber es ist untrennbar mit der Welt um uns herum verbunden.

Wir werden durch die Beziehungen und Erfahrungen geformt, die wir machen, sowie durch die gesellschaftlichen

Strukturen, in denen wir leben.

Die Kollektivität (Wir) wiederum erkennt unsere Verbundenheit als Teil eines größeren Ganzen an.


Unsere Handlungen und Entscheidungen sind nicht isoliert, sondern haben einen tiefgreifenden Einfluss auf andere.


Durch die Kollektivität knüpfen wir soziale Bindungen und bilden Gemeinschaften, teilen Werte und Überzeugungen, die unsere Weltsicht prägen.

Die Ausstellung fordert uns auf, über das Gleichgewicht zwischen unseren individuellen Bedürfnissen und Wünschen und unseren Verpflichtungen gegenüber anderen nachzudenken.


Wie beeinflussen unsere Handlungen als Individuen das Kollektiv und wie formt das


Kollektiv wiederum unsere individuellen Identitäten?


Diese Fragen zwingen uns, unseren Platz in der Welt und das komplexe Beziehungsgeflecht, das uns als Künstler und


Betrachter ausmacht, neu zu überdenken.

Durch eine Vielzahl von Medien, von Malerei über Skulptur bis hin zur Fotografie, laden die Künstler in dieser Ausstellung dazu ein, diese Fragen zu diskutieren und die dynamische Beziehung zwischen dem Selbst und der Kollektivität zu erforschen. Letztendlich hoffen wir, dass diese Ausstellung zu einem tieferen Verständnis unserer selbst und unseres


Platzes in der Welt sowie zu einem erneuerten Engagement für eine gerechtere und gleichberechtigtere Gesellschaft führt.





Me & Us


The human experience is a complex interplay between the self (Ich) and the collective (Wir).

In this exhibition, we delve into the intricate connections and dependencies between these two fundamental aspects of our existence.

The self, with its unique consciousness and individual perspective, is a source of creativity and autonomy, yet is inextricably linked to the world around us. We are shaped by the relationships and experiences we encounter, as well as the societal structures we inhabit.

The collectiveness, on the other hand, acknowledges our interconnectedness as part of a greater whole.

Our actions and choices are not isolated, but rather have a profound impact on others. Through the collective, we form social bonds and build communities, sharing values and beliefs that shape our worldview.

The exhibition prompts us to contemplate the balance between our individual needs and desires, and our obligations to others. How do our actions as individuals affect the collective, and how does the collective, in turn, shape our individual identities? These questions challenge us to consider our place in the world, and the intricate web of relationships that make us who we are.

Through a variety ofmedia, from painting to sculpture to photography, the artists in this exhibition invite us to consider these questions and to explore the dynamic relationship between the self and the collectiveness. Ultimately, we hope that this exhibition will inspire a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the world, and a renewed commitment to creating a more just and equitable society.

Die Ausstellung „Das Tier im Spiegel – animal in the mirror“ zeigt das Zusammenspiel von vier Künstler*innen mit unterschiedlichen Intentionen, Handschriften und Techniken.

Im Folgenden, die verschiedenen Aspekte der Künstler in der der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Titel:

Walter Santoni, Malerei:

Wir alle schauen auf uns selbst. Wir sind Tiere. Doch wie können wir unseren Geist, unseren Körper wahrnehmen?


Der Spiegel und das Bild erinnern uns daran, daß auch wir Teil der Natur sind. Winzige Kreaturen in den weiten des Universum, trinken wir alle aus derselben Quelle.


Vielleicht erinnern wir uns des Beginns und vergessen uns dann?

Alles, was ich tun kann, ist, im Spiegel dessen, was ich will, nach anderen als mir selbst zu suchen, und wenn ich dann genau hinschaue, finde ich niemanden außer einem Tier.

Manchmal tue ich so als ob ich nichts sehe! Stelle mich dumm an... doof und naiv... so wie es mir gerade passt... Und manchmal bin ich doch der klügste und sehe alles! Durchblick nennt man das!


Doch sich tot zu stellen... das wärs jetzt!

Andrea Fürst, Skulptur, Malerei:


Der Spiegel als Synonym für Geist und gleichermaßen als Katalysator, der zur kritischen Betrachtung und Selbstreflektion animiert. Diese Auseinandersetzung führt schließlich zur Transformation, zum Erkennen der ursprünglichen Form.

Die neuen Arbeiten der vier Künstler*innen sind in der Galerie Azimut zu sehen. Die Vernissage der Austellung findet am 04. 02. 2023 um 17.00 Uhr statt.

The exhibition "The animal in the mirror - animal in the mirror" shows the interaction of four artists with different intentions, styles and techniques.
Below, the different aspects of the artists in the confrontation with the title:

Walter Santoni, Painting:

We all look to ourselves. We are animals. But now can we perceive our mind and our bodies?
The mirror and the image remind us thatwe too are part of nature, little creatures that are reflected in the immense universe. We all drink from the same source. And maybe we remember the beginning and then forget ourselves.

Isabella Tulino, Drawing:

All I can do is look in the mirror of what I want, looking for others than myself. And then when I look closely, I find no one but an animal.

Araz Rostami, Painting:

Sometimes I pretend not to see! Act like a fool... stupid and naive... as it suits me... And yet sometimes I'm the smartest and see everything!
It's called perspective!
But playing dead now ... that's it!

Andrea Fürst, Skulpture, Painting:


The mirror as a synonym for spirit and at the same time as a catalyst that encourages critical observation and self-reflection. This confrontation ultimately leads to transformation, to recognizing the original form.

The new works by the four artists can be seen at Galerie Azimut. The vernissage of the exhibition will take place on February 4rd, 2023 at 5 p.m.

Die Galerie Azimut Berlin präsentiert eine neue Ausstellung - The Hidden Landmarks of Change, von Eleny Kasemets und Kamal Sallat.
Die Ausstellungseröffnung findet am Freitag, 10. Juni, um 18 Uhr statt.

The Hidden Landmarks of Change ist eine Ausstellung zeitgenössischer Kunst. 
In Zentrum steht unsere Fähigkeit, uns ständig an neue Bedingungen anzupassen und das Spannungsfeld zwischen Hoffnung und Angst, das dadurch entsteht. Den Künstler*innen geht es in ihren Darstellungen um die Schlüsse, die wir aus unseren Erfahrungen für zukünftige Chancen ziehen, und unseren immer wiederkehrenden Versuch, die Angst so zu überlisten.
 
Eleny Kasemets und Kamal Sallat sind bildende Künstler*innen. Sie stammen aus Estland und Syrien und leben und arbeiten seit vielen Jahren in Berlin. Die beiden haben bei verschiedenen Projekten in Berlin zusammengearbeitet. Diese Ausstellung zeigt ihre neuesten Gemälde, Zeichnungen und Installationen.
Die Ausstellung ist bis zum 19.06.2022 zu sehen.

Azimut Berlin Gallery presents a new exhibition — The Hidden Landmarks of Change, by Eleny Kasemets and Kamal Sallat.
The exhibition opening is on Friday, 10th of June, at 6 PM.
The focus is on our ability to constantly adapt to new conditions and the tension between hope and fear that this creates. The artists are concerned in their depictions with the conclusions we draw from our experiences for future opportunities, and our recurring attempt to outsmart fear in this way.
Eleny Kasemets and Kamal Sallat are visual artists. They come from Estonia and Syria and have been living and working in Berlin for many years.
 The exhibition is open until 19.06.2022.

Azimut Berlin Gallery is pleased to present a new group exhibition — Disrupting 

Future Illusions: A Perspective of our Children.

This conceptual art exhibition is about our environment and sustainability — the 

most burning topics for our children. The show features abstract paintings, collages,

installations and a papier-mache sculpture. All used materials were recycled.

The presented artworks were made by Sophie Katzy, Anuk de Wijs, Imogen 

Beveridge, Aad-Bo Winniewski, Herman Kasemets, Lou Watson, Anton Kipping, 

Ole König, Artie Sobotta, Niranjan Pisharody, Leticia Schmid, Marwa Abdur 

Rahman, Laura Schuchalski, Shirel Foncham, Angelina Philipps, Emily Bertram, 

Krisha Dhawan, Josie Laryea Boateng, Amenzee Okoro. Curated by Eleny 

Kasemets.

The Exhibition Experience Experiment offered Wangari Maathai International 

School 4th graders an opportunity to step-by-step prepare an art exhibition. This 

project was fully prepared by children over the course of three months: starting with

collectively choosing a topic, researching the subject, making meaningful art and 

exhibiting it in an art gallery.

In dieser konzeptionellen Kunstausstellung geht es um unsere Umwelt und 

Nachhaltigkeit - die brennendsten Themen für unsere Kinder. Zu sehen sind

Das Pilot Projekt "Ausstellungserfahrung", bot Viertklässlern der Wangari Maathai 

International School die Möglichkeit, Schritt für Schritt eine Kunstausstellung 

vorzubereiten. Die Arbeiten wurden selbstständig von den Schülern und 

Schülerinnen, über einen Zeitraum von drei Monaten kreiert. Das Projekt umfasste 

die gemeinsame Auswahl des Themas, die Recherche, den Schaffensprozess 

aussagekräftiger Kunst bis hin zur Präsentation im Rahmen einer Ausstellung in 

einer Kunstgalerie.

Multiple doors to incomplete existence

The concept of existence from our perspective is divided into two different directions: The first depends on the influence of space-time on us as individuals in our journey, whether on a social level or on the circumstances of two individuals who moved, carrying their dreams, trying in all the fluctuations and changes to prove their existence through a simple drawing, sketch, an incomplete idea, or endless experiences. And the second concentrates on memory in all its aspects, near and far, which in turn often affects the course of the artwork, as it appears in a varied and intermittent manner, which adds diversity to the artworks.The result of these unfinished and varied experiments was to create a continuum of endless questioning and a permanent state of inquiry that surpass the traditional understanding of the artist's career.

-The option of artistic isolation was not available during our years of work, and what we did was to develop the skills of affecting and being affected by the social environment with its different mentalities and ideas, to create a work of art that blends memories, our personal thoughts and the different social environments. Humanitarian work also had a large share in our artistic production, as human relations based on sharing knowledge and real communication, built solid foundations for protecting artistic passion for us and were a source of protection in periods of inability to practice drawing.

-The diversity of artwork that we produced during previous years and are still producing serves as an artistic guide for the quality of the artistic patterns that we were able to create, given that many studies and sketches are various doors for future artistic projects that we have the ability to implement when the opportunity arises, in addition to our cumulative practice to mix them in order to form new styles. 

-Because of the increasing cruelty in the surrounding circumstances, the permanent identification of oneself through an artwork became centered in the subconscious and based on the great influence of place, memory and various human experiences, as a kind of permanent resistance and struggle for life.

-All the artistic styles presented, both old and new, express us today, transcending the time difference between them.

-Breaking the traditional methods of preparing for artwork, reducing burdens, and minimizing the use of tools to create a coherent artwork in a smart way was a natural result of all the influences we were exposed to, on top of which is the permanent movement and instability. As everything that we have drawn and created since our departure from Syria until now was and still is directly subject to the forceful life conditions and a coherent and diverse product based on endless new beginnings that are subjected to many continuous interruptions. This has made us often ignore basic needs and resist and rebel against interruptions until it has become an innate daily behavior to maintain our existence and enhance the use of our tools to express the conflicts and divergent ideas in our minds.

Illusion

Es ist höchstwahrscheinlich das rasante Tempo der Ereignisse in unserer Zeit, das Menschen manchmal dazu bringt, eine Situation zu schaffen, die der Illusion nahe ist.
Ich male Menschen, die Körper werden oft modifiziert und die Gesichter sind dem Realismus näher.
Eine klare Trennung zwischen ihnen, zwischen Gesicht und Körper, Bewusstsein               
und Unterbewusstsein, Illusion und Realität gibt es. 

Das Gemälde und ich stehen in ständigem Dialog. 
Die Charaktere meiner Gemälde sagen mir manchmal:
"Wir sind Illusionen, lieber Freund!“

Illusion

Sometimes, at our present time, the fast-paced events can lead a person to turn to creating a situation that is similar to illusion.
Too often, bodies are modification faces are close to reality. 
There is a clear boundary, between the face and the body, consciousness and unconsciousness and illusion and reality.
My work and I are in continuous dialogue. 
My paintings say " We are illusions my friend."

Die Ausstellung ist während der Berlin Art Week vom 15. bis 19.09.21 zu sehen.

Politische Noten
Politische Noten sind nicht immer nur wohlklingend, was wir hören, nicht immer erfreulich. 
Wer welchen Akkord spielt, wer die Texte schreibt oder das Konzert dirigiert, ist auch nicht immer klar. 
Tatsächlich kennen wir nur einen Bruchteil dessen, was gespielt wird - das, was die Medien auswählen, um es uns zu zeigen. 
Es ist schrecklich zu sehen, dass diejenigen, die nichts falsch gemacht haben, in politischen Konfliktsituationen am meisten leiden, Frauen und Kinder trocknen, deren Zukunft zerstört wird? 
Das haben sie nicht verdient. 
Niemand hat das.
Eleny Kasemets ist eine estnische bildende Künstlerin. 
Kamal Sallat ist bildender Künstler aus Syrien. Die Ausstellung zeigt die jüngsten 
Arbeiten der beiden Künstler, die die aktuelle globale politische Situation darstellen und auf die jüngsten Ereignisse in 
Afghanistan aufmerksam machen.
Die Ausstellung ist während der Berlin Art Week vom 15. bis 19.09.21 zu sehen.

Political Notes
We are in the middle of constant political symphonies. 
But, unfortunately, these concerts are not always enjoyable. Who plays what chord, who writes the lyrics or conducts the show is not always clear. Instead, we only know a fraction of the whole picture - what the media selects to show us. 
It is heartbreaking to see that those who have done nothing wrong are hurting the most in political conflict situations. 
Who will dry the thousands of tears of women and children as their futures are shredded? They do not deserve this. 
No one does.
Eleny Kasemets is an Estonian visual artist, and 
Kamal Sallat is a Syrian political artist. 
This exhibition shows both of the artists’ most recent works, that picture the current global political situation and draw attention to the recent events in Afghanistan.
The exhibition is open during Berlin Art Week on 15-19.09.21

- An empty and dreadful circle, where Time and conceptions intertwine. 
You drift inside of it between imaginative dreams and reality, between past and memories, in an endless circulation. 
Time is not fixed, it is rather variable in essence. Therefore, an immediate and instantaneous approach is a must, to abridge the speed, intensity and absurdity of motion inside this orbit.
Strange creatures, or familiar ones. Material things, solid or metamorphic, light, heavy, substances, colours, energies. 
These words, next to one another, perhaps list things without meaning; conflicting or convergent, however, one shell or explosion is enough to alter those things into one mass, making them all elements of a certain mixture, that radiates a certain energy and a fixed meaning. 
Living inside this orbit, we can only narrate this mixture through a panoramic picture combined of several frames; things, mutant figures, immobilised, scared, inspiring nothing but harshness, as if time had come to a standstill inside of them, in need of this orbit to reanimate it, and bring it back to its normal circular course.

Standby Transformation
 The stand by mode has been happening for more than a year now. 
The people, the cities, our lives - everything has been frozen like a hold button in a sci-fi drama. 
Just constantly waiting for the end date of it all, to continue with our lives, our artist practice, waiting to present our recent works. 
However, there is no end date, no restart button, just a continuation of the daily waiting with bitter comprehension that certainly nothing will be the same. 
When we stopped our ordinary living and our surroundings began to look like abandoned cities, nature started to transform and thrive. 
In the end, nature wins. And there is a balance.
 Azimut Gallery Berlin presents an exhibition: Standby Transformation by Kathrin Bauer, Kamal Sallat, and Eleny Kasemets. 
Artists show their new works, produced in these troubled times, questioning if the internal transformation is always happening.

Standby Transformation
Der Stand-by-Modus ist seit einem Jahr im Gange. 
Die Menschen, die Städte, unser Leben - alles wurde eingefroren, wie wenn man in einem Science-Fiction-Drama einen Halteknopf drückt. 
Wir warten auf das Enddatum von all dem, um mit unserem Leben, unserer künstlerischen Praxis weiterzumachen, warten darauf, unsere neuesten Arbeiten zu präsentieren. 
Aber es gibt kein Enddatum, keinen Neustart-Knopf, nur eine Fortsetzung des täglichen Wartens mit der bitteren Erkenntnis, dass vielleicht nichts mehr so sein wird wie vorher.
Als wir mit dem normalen Leben aufhörten und unsere Umgebung begann, wie verlassene Städte auszusehen, begann die Natur sich zu verwandeln und zu gedeihen.
Am Ende gewinnt die Natur und es gibt ein Gleichgewicht.
Die Azimut Galerie Berlin präsentiert Stand by Transformation von Kathrin Bauer, Kamal Sallat und Eleny Kasemets. 
Die Künstler zeigen ihre neuen Arbeiten, die in diesen Zeiten entstanden sind und fragen, ob innere Transformation immer stattfindet.
